Whitacre's Virtual Choir...

I heard about this video on an NPR Report. Eric Whitacre put a request on the internet for anyone to sing a part to a piece he composed, video their singing, and then upload it onto YouTube. Then, a volunteer took all the videos and assembled them into this most amazing choir... an internet virtual choir. Here is Lux Aurumque (Light and Gold). (He has a second one called Sleep ... just as amazing.) Enjoy ...

  1. Well this is amazing... I am so far behind the times with technology that this actually boggles my mind.. Just the idea of knowing how to record this and submit it is beyond me.. Then the concatenating job - WOW.. So this is what it feels like to realize you are hopelessly older than the cool generation...

  3. OK, Shannon Murphy... I had to look up concatenating to make sure I knew what it meant! That cool generation is going to have to do a lot of coolness to catch up to you!

  4. Don't be too impressed... "concatenate" is a function in Excel, the spreadsheet program in which I live about 95% of my life. I wouldn't know the word otherwise.. it's a very cool function I have to admit. but the word I think, implies something about feline dietary troubles..
